Sure is - I have that one too. Was my first, actually.

I like to think of it as...a foundation on which to build upon.

Funny thought on that - the Shifrin was my first and for a year, by ear
that's how I knew K622. Then I bought the Marcellus and thought it
sounded bizarre - I'd never heard it on a regular A clarinet before. ^_^

Quick note to you, Bill...you're wondering if the other recordings will
have different 'nuances' than Stolzman? If you purchase several records,
I think you might find that Stolzman is the one with the 'different'
nuance. His method of adjusting for the lack of basset register differs
with those of other non-basset recordings, and his very notable vibrato is
distracting when compared with the recordings of Shifrin, Meyer, and
Marcellus. Of the five recordings that I own, his is the most...unique.

I do like his playing of that bassoon concerto, though...
