Okay, okay, point taken! Thank you for setting me straight. I guess I listen
to my teacher too much because it was actually HIS concern with the
instrument. Teachers aren't always right!

Thanks again

Lacy, I began this note earlier, and then erased it all because I was
afraid that you might not react to satire. The original note said
something like, "You are considering buying an instrument 13 years
old??? Are you crazy? Anything that old should be made into firewood."

But then I said, Lacy might believe me. Instead, I'll talk straight.

The very idea that you would voice great affection for what may be a
magnificent instrument, and state that every single item of that
instrument met your every expectation, but were hesistant because the
instrument is 13 years old, gives me the impression that you believe a
13 year old instrument is the musical equivalent of a 13 year old dog;
i.e., it's on its last legs.

That notion is so patently silly, so technically absurd, and so socially
bonkers, that until you change that point of view, I will not give you
permission to buy me a pizza at any time, ever!!!

I once knew a guy who met a beautiful woman with whom he fell in love.
She was charming, rich, loving, intelligent, kind, and with a
magnificent set of values. He knew all this but left her because she
was a year older than him. He was, of course, 29, and knew well never
to trust anyone over 30.
