Oh, I know I'm going to get lynched for this one...

I don't like Persechetti. Not one bit. I can stand to hear Pageant
played once every two years, be it live or recorded...and that's it. In
fact, Pageant was the first thing I ever heard of his, and it wasn't so
bad. But then I heard several other pieces by him.

They all sounded just like Pagaent. Same parallel clusterizing chords
open fifth movement, etc etc. I just don't like it.

It's not to say that his stuff doesn't have merit, and that it's not good
music. It probably is - just not to ME. I'm certain there were people
who couldn't stand to listen to Mozart, probably muttering, "Damn scales,
here there...all over the place. Can't he write nuthin' than a scale?"
and of course we all know better. So if I'm offending anyone with my
narrowmindedness towards Mr. P, take me with about as much salt as you
take Herr Mozart's critics.

My dislike for Persechetti has as much depth and sense to it as my dislike
of pickles on my burgers. ^_-
