Subj: [kl] Sonata for Eb clarinet and piano
Date: Mon, 19 Jun 2000 11:23:33 -0400

For all you who have inquired (enquired?)

I have written a Sonata for Eb clarinet and piano. You can hear it at
http://www.mp3.com/metopera/

If you want score/parts, email me and we'll discuss where I should send it.
Price $15

By the way, don't forget all the wonderful Eb clarinet solos in
Shostakovich symphonies (not JUST his opera). The 6th and 8th particularly
have huge solos, and I'm playing Eb on the 7th on the NY Phil's recent
release. Also pretty big is the Daphnis and Chloe ballet, many Stravinsky
works (original Firebird, Sacre, Violin Concerto). One of the hardest
things I ever saw (and something I still can't play - I don't know who
can), is in the Ravel Piano Concerto. In the altissimo register, you must
portimento while flutter tonguing.
