G'day,

I tried Zonda reeds a few years ago. I found them
excellent up to a point. I was playing on 3.5's back
then but discovered they died without giving me any
warning at all. One second they were fine and then all
of a sudden the whole tone and sound I was getting
dissappeared into...well...crap. I would put it down
to just one reed but it happened to me more than once.
I wrote to the manufacturer and they suggested I try
there #4's which I duely did only to find that the
consistancy wasn't as good. I must have played a good
10 boxes of 4's before I gave up and went back to
Vandoren's.

As an aside, the best box of reeds I ever bought was a
box of Marca Tradition Select #4's. I bought them on
my last trip to the States 2 years ago. I wish I could
get them in Australia (and believe me I have
tried! They usually send me the "normal" Marca's after
a wait of about 8 weeks. But unfortunatly they don't
play anywhere near as good as the Select Reeds).
Anybody else tried these?

All the best

Rod
