The Zonda company was generous enough to send me three boxes of free samples
some of the supremes, 4's and 4 and 1/2's and Classicos, 4 and 4.5's.
I find that, compared to what I have used over the last several years
(Queen, Oliveri, Mitchell Lurie Premium) that the Zondas are a little
strong. However, it is also true that, past a certain point, every player
will have to do some adjusting in order to get the type of sound s/he
prefers in every register on a particular reed. Will, you may simply need
to take off a little more right along the rails at the back, near where a
score on some brands are. You may even find scoring them and cutting off
extra bark will get rid of the fuzziness for you. Some possibilities. I am
sure there are others I have not thought of at the moment.
