The WW&BW is getting trashed on the issue of special orders. Since my
post started the thread, let me comment. I have dealt with them several
times, purchasing Buffet bass cl, Buffet R13 Bb cl, Buffet alto Sax, and
Selmer baritone Sax. They have pissed me off out of the purchase of a
soprano Sax, the two I received to try were both damaged (clearly
between factory and WW&BW) and I once received a bari sax loose in a
box, with no packing. THeir sales staff varies from superb to brain
dead. I would not consider calling them for a special order UNLESS I
spoke directly to a manager, the clerk would inevitably screw it up.
But I would speak to a manager, the managers are reasonable and
intelligent.
