Mine is a copy of a Kaspar Tauber Viennese clarinet, scaled to A=430 by
Nick Shackleton, made by Daniel Bangham, tuned by Ted Planas. We then
decided that Ted had made the bore extension too modern, and replaced
the bottom joint -- but that was after both recordings (concerto and
quintet).

It's more complicated than Eric's -- I have Eb, C# and B keys in the
lower register (but I would like an angel in the middle:-)

The extension is diatonic, in the sense that playing low E, only the D
and C keys are open. The D# and C# are obtained by pushing D+D# and
C+C# respectively.

It's straight, standard bell, with angled barrel. The low notes are
quite strong enough!

Of course, it was made in 1984, well before all this Russian evidence.
I like it very much.

I think it's very difficult to tell what's what. Those keys look like
they could be artist's impressions of the low E and F# keys to me. But
on the whole I don't think it's a 'proper' drawing at all.

The one thing that's clear is the Buffet logo^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hvent
on the knee-joint;-)
