Subject: [kl] Low Clarinets?

I play a contra alto (EEb) clarinet and love it. The difference between the
two biggies is, a contra alto is one octave lower than an Eb alto. The true
contra bass is one octave lower than the Bb bass clarinet and in is BBb. I
find the EEb contra more versitile in the community band as in addition to
contra alto parts, I can also play bari sax, tuba, cello, and string bass
parts with simple transposing. The parts for BBb contra are rare so you're
kinda limmited to bass clarinet or maybe tuba if you can read bass clef.
Bari parts can be played too in this but i find transposing from Bb to Eb a
lot harder though I know some folks that do it with ease.
