We Brits call it <long note practise>. Your phrase Pattie is much more
user friendly. I shall use it from now on. <We> start them ppp. then cresc
to
ff then diminuendo back to ppp. I think that is pretty much universal. I`m
sure Bill and everyone knows of them. (We`ll make Bill into a clarinettist
somehow,
even if he is foolin` around on bass - and cheatin` on his Bb - there`s a
country ballad
in there somewhere ain`t there. Must get Pat Metheny to do the backin`
track. Then we`ll overdub Kenny G without Pat`s knowledge, and get a release
on it - whadya thyannnk?)
But to continue your $002 worth with my £.002 worth. I probably need a
smack, because
I`m new to klarinet, (thank you to all who have accepted me quite decently)
and here I am
giving advice from across the Atlantic, and who knows how many more miles,
to a
gentleman who
I do not know how long has been learning. To Bill I say, I suppose if you
are asking the
questions, then I assume you are ready for the answers.
It would be interesting to discover what Bill`s tutor thinks of him, after
searching world-wide
for answers, (without the tutor`s knowledge?), and getting them. Then when
his tutor shows him what he`s <already> discovered in cyber space days
before, watching the tutor`s reaction each week when Bill interjects with
"You mean like this - - - - -" waxing lyrically thro` the brand new piece
to the tutor`s amazement.
Is this the scenario Bill, or do you pretend at first that you are totally
ignorant? I`d love to be a fly on the wall in <that> tutor`s studio!
How long <have> you been surfing Bill? How many other clarinet sites do you
ask questions in? Is the intention to accumulate all the post, and then
compile a cyber tutor book which will then make a fast million for you?
You`ve got it all worked out havn`t you? I bet you and your tutor are in
this together!!!!!!!!
I don`t reckon you`re doing your 2 hours - - - you`re too busy on the phone
lines. Now I know the reason
for all the congestion.
Finally - A discovery. <Everything goes round in circles> as the saying
goes. I started
an adult on clarinet 1 year ago who introduced me to Klarinet some months
ago. She bought me a C.D. of Michael Brecker - some good hard jazz on it. I
wrote a "tune" for her wedding (as you know, in Central Park). Klarinet then
introduces me to some quite exhilarating, controversial, and informative
chat. I put the C.D. on today, and noticed that Michael Brecker takes top
billing, with <Pat Methany> taking 2nd.
Finally Two - I don`t have any - - - - - - - I`ve over stayed my welcome,
havn`t I - - - - - that`s all - - - - -(folks)
Best Wishes,
Tony W.
