My original posting stated that the information came from the web. It did
not give any web email addresses as Lelia states I clearly indecated! I
also stated in my original post that the interview was sent to me, and
because of interest generated on Klarinet, I felt the public interview by
such a nationally known professional musician such as Metheny was very
interesting. Even if it is identical to that which is on Metheny's
personal website, I can assure you I didn't get it there!

While one would like to believe that what they put up on a website is
copyrighted, it isn't always. In the case of the 1900 words (if that is
what it was) didn't come from Methany's website. It came from the Down
Beat website (something I mentioned in my post with Metheny's bio and
recording list). If it is, in fact, presented as an ad or information
promoting Methany (as I believe it was), it is fair game for copying and
sending.

If I understand Lelia correctly, she asserts that Metheny's words (directly
below as Lelia presented them to us) are an example of his intent regarding
excerpts of his interview. I submit that the below quote is from the
interview - not from the excerpt he complains about in the quote. The
below quote is not his intent regarding the interview - rather, it was an
explanation for why people reacted to his original words that were taken
out of context in a public show - long preceding the interview.

"If I were to try to read, much less answer, all the attacks made on me,
this shop might as well be closed for any other business. I do the very
best I know how - the very best I can; and I mean to keep doing so until
the end. If the end brings me out all right, what is said against me won't
amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, 10 angels swearing I
was right would make no difference."
