Last evening & today were a bit harried due to a "day job" emergency, so I
wasn't able to prepare much background on this week's performances. Of
interest this week (mostly because of composers, not clarinet):

Duo for Violin and Viola, op. 13
Louis Spohr

Chamber Symphony No. 2, op. 38
Arnold Schoenberg (an "easy listening" Schoenberg, at least compared with
his later music)

Sonata No. 1 in G, op. 78
Johannes Brahms
Josef Suk, violin/ Julius Katchen, piano (Suk & Katchen are just
_wonderful_ in this piece. IMNSHO.)

Concert Champetre for Harpsichord and Orchestra
Francis Poulenc

There's some Nielsen, Sibelius, Glazunov, Verdi, Schumann, Bartok, and Berg
mixed in there, too.
