Bill,
To clarify - when I say push up with R.H. (to secure M/P inside Mouth), I
mean push up with R.H. <THUMB> (under thumb rest). You can`t push up with
R.H. <fingers> as <they> have got other work to do. Let the thumb do the
work. Just the minutest pressure will insert - (bad word to use), the M/P 1
or so mm. Let your lips go <with> the M/P. In other words do not simply put
more M/P <into> the mouth, otherwise you are back to square one, squeaking
uncontrollably.
(You are <not> <inserting> more M/P - you <are> <securing> the M/P within
your embouchure). Keep your top lip firmly down. Pressure with bottom lip
can then be varied - a little. You have to experiment with your mouth/oral
cavity, as you practise. But be comfortable. It`s not hard - it`s just a
little frustrating when you enter this next stage of the upper part of the
instr. If your mouth and lips get tired, put down and have a cup of tea. It
really <IS> pleasurable Bill, I can assure you.
Done your 2 hours yet?
Tony.
