Pardon me for 'boasting' about such a minor accomplishment, but
tonight I played a 2-octave D major scale all the way up to
two-lines-and-a-space above the staff, took a breath thereby releasing
my embouchure, and then I hit the high D and went back down two octaves,
then back up in thirds (arpeggio chords), took another breath at the
top, hit the high D again, and went back down -- all of this with
reasonable (if not perfect) intonation and bearable tone.

Yes, it's beginner stuff, but it's the first time I've done it....
and I feel good tonight.

Cheers,
Bill
