To all,

I know that this is not particularly Clarinet related, but I wanted to =
update you on the progress of Jay's Clarinet and Percussion. As some of =
you know, I decided, with the support of my family, to leave my regular =
job to pursue this venture. The primary reason was because of the =
extensive travel, (4 to 5 days a week) and a string of broken promises. =
When I announced on this sight that I was going in this direction I =
received a number of encouraging emails from individuals on the list, =
privately, which were very encouraging. This is not an ad, it is just =
my desire to keep people posted on my progress.

Things are progressing slowly, but they are going in a positive =
direction. I have about 15 Clarinet and 5 Percussion Student. They =
range in ages from 9 to 55. My reputation is starting to grow and the =
interest is increasing.

As I mentioned before, one of my projects is a drum instructional video. =
In this video I instruct intermediate to advanced drummers on the =
technique of using Rudiments to improvise around syncopated figures. So =
far I have sold none. The music stores have been slow to review, and I =
think my Web site is lost in cyberspace somewhere. But I believe this =
is about to change quickly.

"Modern Drummer" has just informed me that they are going to put the =
Video in their "New and Notable" section in the next issue. I had sent =
a copy of the video to them about 4 weeks ago for review. They said =
that they didn't have the space to put it in their review section, but =
they would give it exposure by putting it in this other section. This =
gives me free advertising from the largest Drum magazine in this =
country.=20

Also, a portion of the video will appear on a large percussion web site =
in about a week or two. This is a large web site that will display the =
video, at no charge, at put a link to my web site. I will give that web =
site when the video is put on it. (Hopefully you'll be kind when you =
finally see what I look like). I'm in the process of setting up an =
e-commerce account so that I can take orders from the internet.

My Third venture is starting a Home School Band. I been able to secure =
a place for the rehearsals and will probably start in a week or two. I =
have had some car troubles which has slowed me down some. I'm very =
excited about this venture, since it give an oportunity to bring arts to =
the Home School Community in my area. =20

That's it. To those who have encouraged me I give you my heart felt =
thanks,

Jay Webler

Jay's Clarinet and Percussion

P.S. For those of you who are interested, my web site is, =
http://www.jaysclarinetandpercussion.com It's the same address even if =
your not intrested. =20
