As everyone (?) here knows, I don't think the Mozart concerto is an
appropriate piece for a preliminary audition. But let that pass.

I think that the point of any audition is to try not to throw away
someone who might be interesting. Sounds to me like you were doing a
good job.

There was a discussion of how to fill the first clarinet job. But
2nd/bass is another thing.
