If I'm to be serious about this subject -- don't you think that the
'perfect' setup, like the 'perfect' embouchure, depends on many
circumstances? And also on what you want?

But, just to choose the most obvious thing, doesn't it depend on the
reed you have?

How about trying all your ligatures with a particular reed to see if the
sound and response is improved?

Just like you try all your embouchures, I'm sure -- from moment to
moment even.

And just to respond to Don's post -- you only need to grease the cork
well in order to avoid having to choose between different ligatures on
the basis of how easily you can change clarinets.
