In regards to games for the classroom:

I was a student teacher this spring and a game i used with the 6th grade
beginning band was Music Jeopardy. You make a question board out of poster
board with little pockets. I wrote out rhythms, simple melodies or
defintions to musical terms on index cards. A student would pick a category
then a point value. For rhythms they had to count and clap; for melodies
they had to play it, for definitions they had to give the correct musical
term. You can divide the group into teams; that worked best for me. The
kids really enjoyed this game. I also have more games....if interested
