I agree with all your comments, but there's one vital thing we must always
keep in view: that of the "human ingredient."-- the actual interaction on a
physical, sensural basis with your fellow human beings in a nice casual
surrounding whether it be a record store or any good store. Think of the
recent surge in popularity of restaurants as another aspect of this.
Cyberspace does not really have this sensural contact, and the thought of
eventually not having this interaction send chills up my spine! Kind of like
a bad science fiction movie. For this I fervently hope that you are wrong
about record stores disappearing altogether. As far as the price goes, maybe
the stores will be forced to lower them because of lost business to online
buying.
