Thanks for the help, everyone. What strikes me as being odd is the
fact that my instrument is of the newest generation of Buffet basses, and that
essentially means that it is rare. Perhaps, not the type of thing that a pawn
shop would even buy. Assuming the thief knows little to nothing about
clarinets, would/should I expect to find it listed as a bass clarinet? Inside
the case were a variety of items, including mouthpieces, tools, music, reeds,
tuner, etc. I just couldn't imagine what someone would possibly do with the
instrument.
