Subj: [kl] Composition competition

Hi Friend,
I`m afraid I`m not going to be much help. Join the flute societies, and the
composers guilds. The Unions sometimes publishes info. But if you will allow
me to be constructive in my criticism, not many competitions
would be looking for such unusual "material" i.e. flute duet. It is almost
"educational" music. Think a little more "seriously" to use a very bad word.
Think flute and piano, fl. & strings, perhaps a suite for fl/ob/cl/bsn.
Don`t write and then look for the competition. Do it the other way round.
Look for the competition first, because there are other restrictions, other
than musical considerations, such as age limits, which you must take into
account.
Best of luck,
Tony W.
