No offense taken nor intended. Just kidding around with trombonists.
In bands that I've played in, given enough time, there is usually a
rapport set up with guys in the brass section with whom there is some
good natured dissing back and forth. Often as not, I'll get shot
down in flames by someone a bit quicker with the wit than I, usually
resulting in a strong friendship. A few guys I've jived like that
turned out to have spent a lot of time on a long gig playing cards
backstage with guys like Henny Youngman and Jack Carter and had a
repetoire of one-liners that shut me up in a hurry.
