Ligatures

For those who wish to experiment, here is a thing I've done and it
worked out OK.
You need a spring-loaded punch.

You also need an ALTO saxophone ligature.

Take an old mouthpiece and place an old reed on it.

Slip the ALTO ligature over this.

Usually one can punch just beyond the screws (on an Alto).
The dents should be very close to the reed

Punch four dents, to simulate four touching points of some ligatures.

Then you have a ligature with protruding spots for the reed to vibrate.
Of course, put this on your good mouthpiece and reed. It might work. It
does for me.
