Hi Mary,

The problem is called "summer humidity". You can do a couple of things -
leave it alone and when drier weather comes the wood will shrink a little
and the problem will cease to exist, or have your repairman remove some of
the cork on the tenon of the upper joint. It may also be necessary to
remove some of the wood inside the barrel socket to accommodate the swelling
of the tenon. This is definitely something for the repairman to do though,
so that the clarinet is not damaged in the process.
