I won my current job in the midst of a raging cold made worse by
dehydration from a 2 hour plane flight. After making the finals, and
discovering that the current occupant of the chair was also in the finals
(to be held the next day) I had a little too much wine with friends at
dinner, since I was sure the audition was a setup. I never warmed up more
that 5 minutes for any of the 5 rounds I played over the two days. And
here I am.

I should have been smart enough to follow this model for subsequent
auditions... ;-)
