I would like some suggestions for a book about the fundamentals of
music, basic music theory. And not necessarily pointed toward classical
music..

I think maybe something like; 'Music Fundamentals: Through Pitch
Structures and Rhythmic Design' by D'Amante?
However I am unfamiliar with this market..........
