I keep my reeds on strips of plexiglass cut a little longer and wider than
the reed. Using a heavy rubberband, I strap the reed as tightly as possible
against the plexiglass strips so they stay flat. This set up can hold two
reeds (one on each side) Then, put the strapped reed/plexiglass in a plastic
sandwich bag or similar sealed container.

I experimented with adding a drop of water to the bag to keep them moist, but
this didn't work. The extra dampness waterlogged the reeds and encouraged
mold, etc. Soak your reed in water before playing them and that should be
enough.

Good luck.

Subject: keeping the moisture in the reeds

I was wondering how most of you keep the moisture in the reeds when
you are not playing on them? A humidifier costs way too much for me to
afford. Are there any other ways such as taping a wet sponge to the inside
of a box and putting the reeds in there? This would be great for my old
reeds. This would also be great for my new ones, once broken into.
