With my basset clarinet lower joint there is no appreciable difference
in feel and sound of the notes of
the upper joint when ther lower joint is added.
I have such a lower joint (made for me by Stephen Fox) and when I
substitute it for the soprano A lower joint I feel and hear no difference
in
the notes of the upper joint.
The notes that are affected in particular when a basset lower joint is
added
are the long C and long B because on the basset clarinet lower joint there
are 4 more tone holes below the long B to affect the pitch of the C and B.
