David, you have made an assumption that is not entirely clear to those
of us who have played basset horn. What kind of an instrument did you
play?

If, for example, you played a narrow bore basset horn, the question of
using an alto clarinet reed has no meaning since the narrow bored
instruments use a soprano clarinet mouthpiece. So you must be speaking
of a LeBlanc or Buffet with wide bore. Right?

Unlike soprano clarinets where this kind of distinction is not
necessary, when it comes to basset horns you have to be very explicit.

I am so happy you enjoyed yourself and presume that you played 2nd b.h.
for the Requiem. Am I correct?
