Sam, you've certainly hit a point of resonance with me! I'm 61, been
playing for 50 years, I'm playing now about as much or more than I ever did
when I was in high school (which was about 1.5 hours per day) and I have
never been able to graduate to higher than 2-1/2 reeds. I am clearly the
happiest when I'm playing on something like a Vandoren 2 or a Zonda 2. I
try some of the other ones and my N.Q. (neurosis quotient) begins to go
right through the ceiling. I'll be most interested in what some of the
others on the list have to say on this thread. Thanks for posting!

(I just took a look in my case. My current favorite is a Zonda 2. I
protect it with my life. It gives me a bright tone, easy to blow and to
control.)
