Dear list

I have recently restarted playing the clarinet after a 12 year =
'break'!!!
Yesterday, I tried to play the thing and nearly busted a lung.
Today my eyes nearly popped out.
I would like some advice. Whats the best way to get back into it? I have =
a very old book with some simple tunes in, and I have been trying those. =
Also scales.=20
The staccato is very difficult to play, is this normal? It sounds awful, =
you can hear the tongue touching the reed. Is this the right way to do =
it?
I am using a Rico Royal 3.5 reed. Is this too hard? I can't remember =
which way the numbers run anyway, just that that's what I used to have.
Any help would be appreciated. I might go and have some lessons!

Cheers
