Mr. Pay,
Your comments in defense of previous statements on the issue of
professionalism and transposing we're so brilliantly written and well thought
out I had to congratulate you on your clarity. On a personal note, I will be
playing Strauss' Alpine Symphony next week and there is only one low E-flat
on the first page in a run of sixteenth notes. The whole part in B-flat and
I'll be damned if I'm going to get the A out for this one. I'm sure it's
doubled in the bassoons, or horns or violas. Of course I'm playing second so
I'll have to do as the first does, but in the words of Pooh Bear "Oh, bother"
