BTW, Arnold Brilhart, last I knew (1993-4) was with the Rico factory out
near Anaheim (I think) and was helping them with their mouthpiece designs.
This was when they were still sending out free samples of the Grand Concert
Reeds. I have to say, visiting a reed factory is definitely an education.
I forget just how many times the cane was cut before the "fine" work was
done; however, I digress. Mr. Brilhart was a courtly gentleman, and my
colleagues from Navy Band San Diego and I really enjoyed his company.
