A few weeks ago there was some discussion of method books for beginners.
Because of several enthusiastic endorsements from some of the teachers on
the list, I ordered the Galper method books for myself. I have to say, I
like them a lot--the melodic exercises take a lot of the tedium out of rote
practicing, and I've already begun to notice real progress. Thanks all for
the recommendation.
