Which is why over 8,000 people are now awaiting the outcome of the arbitration for statutory fees. Most everyone thinks these are outrageous; they equal the combined percentages paid to ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC. While the RIAA may be in the legal "right" in this particular case, their licensing fees are considered by many to be exorbitant. The statutory fee schedule to be set later this year is expected to be somewhere in the 10-12% range.
