Date: Mon, 8 May 2000 08:14:09 -0400

Dear Clarinetists:

The International Clarinet Connection 2000 web site has just been updated
with vendor and sponsor listings as well as complete program information.
Check it out at

http://www.longy.edu/icc2000/

Although, we are already fully enrolled with FULL students (including
private lessons). We still have spots for PARTIAL/$500 (play in
masterclasses but no private lessons), AUDITORS/$300 (watch everything, but
don't play in masterclasses and no private lessons). Just go to the web
site listed above and click on "Student Application".

Here are some highlights of recent updates to the site. ICC 2000 will
feature five FACULTY CONCERTS and two STUDENT CONCERTS with performances by
renowned clarinetists Jonathan Cohler, Ricardo Morales, and Luis Rossi;
Coleman Prize Winning Woodwind Quintet Vento Chiaro, Tchaikovsky
Competition Gold Medalist Ilya Kaler, the up-and-coming Diabelli Quartet,
and pianists Shizue Sano and Susan Shin.

SOME HIGHLIGHTS:

* Vendors already signed up to exhibit and sponsor the event include
Vandoren/D'Addario, Howarth, Gennusa, Rayburn, Wurlitzer, The Reed Wizard,
Rossi Fine Clarinets, Ongaku Records, and more...

* Also, we are very pleased to announce that in our first year, we are
already FULLY ENROLLED! We are still accepting AUDITORS, but we are
completely enrolled with Full students at this point.

* The students for this event are not typical students. They hail from 10
different countries have an average age of 28 (ranging from 17 to 63) and
many already occupy positions in professional orchestras! We expect a
total enrollment including auditors of 50+ students, and all of the
concerts are open to the public ($10 tickets), so the total attendance for
the week will be around 500-600.

* Jonathan Cohler, Ricardo Morales and Luis Rossi will be doing
masterclasses and concerts all week long.

* The PROGRAM includes performances of the Brahms (Cohler), Mozart (Rossi)
and Weber (Morales) and Stanford (Rossi) Quintets, Bartok Contrasts
(Cohler/Kaler/Sano), Berg Adagio (Cohler/Kaler/Sano), Poulenc Sonata

Bassi Rigoletto Fantasy (Cohler), music from South America (Rossi), Buss
Postcards from Vienna (Cohler), Varese Octandre, Janacek Mladi
