Norman / OK City is _far_ from nowhere (South Dakota is much closer, though
...)

We have similar irrational fears of NYC - getting on a subway and getting
knifed by a crazed gang member ...

Considering I live in Detroit, people think that there's riots and fires all
the time here. That stuff really happens far away at MSU in Lansing ...

Not really. At least this year.
