IMHO, it is very important to stay with what works best for you. now I have
a fairly thin upper lip and a somewhat short palate, so I have found that
double lip is not comfortable for me for a very long period of time. Back
when i was in high school though, I found it good to play double lip for
short periods simply to open up my oral cavity and give me the feeling I was
looking for in my single lip embouchure. If a student of mine found double
lip worked best I would certainly encourage it; however, I find that if
students are taught to drop the jaw from the beginning, biting is not a
problem.
