Depends on what you want to use it for and what you want to spend. It
might make a suitable marching band practice horn (just the thing for
cold/hot/rainy days) or interesting gee-whiz item. I keep one in my truck
for quick practicing during lulls in the route, and when I show it to band
students they invariably freak out! If you can do your own work, of
course, it is relatively inexpensive to fix up an old clarinet, and you can
learn an awful lot about the workings from such an exercise. Or then
again, they make great lamp bases! The "1928" is more likely a serial
number than a date, although it coincidentally may not be far off in that
regard.
