I recently sent my old Buffet Albert to Steve Fox for some fairly
intense work (new posts, tenon replacement, etc.) at the suggestion of a
fellow lister, and I couldn't be more pleased with the beautiful
workmanship he did. His prices were very fair (bear in mind CDN$ =
about US$0.69 currently), plus he is a very personable, friendly,
helpful, and witty guy. His reputation is sterling, and I would have to
say that from my personal experience I understand why. The only problem
might be the inherent awkwardness of cross-border issues like going
through customs, currency exchange fees, and (especially) banking fees
(all of which I managed to avoid because I have a good friend in Ontario
who did a lot of the legwork for me).
