This may sound like an exoteric philosophical concept, but it has a
practical application.

We never actually hear how we OURSELVES sound. (A high fidelity recording
can be close, but still includes some change or distortion).

Or as Kato expresses it:
"Often we are so busy listening for the quality of sound, which it is
impossible for us to hear, that we are unable to pay sufficient attention
to the pitch, which we can hear." (Stage Fright/Kato' Havas, page 72-73)

Someone (ones?) used the term resonance. Resonance is a quality we can
perceive, or more specifically, the presence of overtones.

In my case, that listening includes pitch and "blend".
I am using the word blend as the sense of how the part fits into the
musical structure-
where we are and what that leads to, and the balance & ensemble role,
whether the part is foreground or background.
