Regarding performance annotations by Percy Grainger:

Many of the contemporary editions of Grainger's band writing have
substituted dull, boring, lifeless Italian terms for the wonderful
Graingerenglish interpretive markings. What a shame! Grainer was a
fascinating individual, and these terms represent the real soul of his
musical personality.

"Molly On The Shore" is fun to play, isn't it? As is my favorite "The
Gumsuckers March".
