Hello Rod,

I have in my hand a Mazzeo System clarinet which I bought at a tag sale
mainly as a curiosity since it is laiden with an amazing amount of key work.
Talk about bells and whistles!! The range is only to low E, but on it is
every key-work improvement imaginable - articulated throat B-flat, a slide
lock for I-don't-know-what, a closed thumb 'F' tone hole, articulated c#/g#,
the c#/g# tone hole is drilled through the tenon where it is supposed to be &
left side E-flat/A-flat. The left side keys missing on your clarinet are
ball and socket type. (I believe the Bundy are lever type.) The material is
wood (probably grenedilla). A metal band was added around the upper joint
and the bell which is straighter than R-13, has no metal ring and,
consequently, a crack.

The barrel is stamped "Selmer 10G". On the upper joint just above the Selmer
stamp is the word Depose (very tiny). Under the stamp is "Mazzeo System"
which can also be found stamped on the bell. Serial # R8612.

It is unplayable and so I am unable to report how this particular bell
effects the tone quality of the clarinet. I'll see if it will fit on my
R-13.

Bill Hausmann stated that this instrument could be a "Prize." Bill, how much
of a prize? Maybe I can retire sooner than expected!?
