The Opus 73 Partita in F Major by Frantisek Krommer is now available for
downloading and your playing pleasure.

As a young person learning clarinet I was drawn to pieces I'd find
occasionally by Krommer. There wasn't much when I was a clarinet student
but they popped up from time to time. To find that he composed 13
partitas, many of which are hard to find only whetted my appetite when I
discovered that the National Library of Austria seems to have them all!

Anyway, here is the first of those the microfilms of which I received from
a very helpful music librarian. In contrast to the Berwald septet, the
Schubert quintet and earlier Reicha quintet which I sequenced and with
which I was fairly disappointed, the Krommer partitas that I've done give
me a lot of pleasure. I look forward to doing the others as I have the time.

My world premiere Karaoke concert took place last night in the usual place.
It is SO much fun to do these with the realization that here is a piece
that gets performed maybe once in a blue moon -- and maybe a lot less. As
William Mulholland said in the shortest public speech on record, when he
opened the Owens Valley Aqueduct from the eastern watershed of the Sierra
Nevada mountains to the San Fernando Valley, "Here it is. Take it!"

You'll find it at

Enjoy!!

Oliver
