Perhaps "long fingering" (in my previous post) was the incorrect
term. I meant the fingering where you move your right hand pinky to the
right in order to depress the E key (and don't use the left hand pinky
version of the E key).
<><> Several times now, I have bought something against the advice
of people here. And each time I've discovered that the experienced
players were correct and I wasted my money.
@-----. Is there any reason that I should not
ask the local music store to put an adjustable thumb rest on my plastic
student Yamaha?
<><> I ask because, unless I position my thumb in a really awkward
way, I'm having a difficult time with the long fingering for
B-natural-on-the-staff (uncovers other right hand holes). I _can_ do it
reliably if I put my thumb in a really awkward position on the thumb
rest, and I'm thinking that if I could just slide the thumb rest a
little bit this way.....

Thanks,
