The Vandoren is not adjustable for tip curve. The blade is clamped between
two metal blocks which force it into the curve, and the only way one could
"adjust" that would be to machine different mounting blocks. I would
characterize the Vandoran as a "cutter", in that it uses a single sharp
blade pressed against a backing pad (with the reed tip in the middle)
rather than a "clipper" like the Cordier, which uses a shear force. Maybe
(??) the Vandoran makes a smoother cut?? But all that is adjustable is the
position of the reed, and in this it is like the Cordier and presumably all
of the others.
