Over the last several months, many people in various postings have
mentioned the need to "voice" some notes or perhaps even some
registers. What does this actually mean? Does it have to do with
opening and closing the throat, or moving the tongue up or down? If so,
for what effect? Intonation? Tone Quality? Clarity?

Specifically, when does one "voice" and how, and why?

I hope some of our more experienced players can help me on this.
