The Gypsy Baron Overture

This passage is indeed tricky on a Boehm Bb clarinet.
The usual thing to do is play it half tone higher on the A clarinet. It
will sound a half tone lower.Then it's a cinch.

However, even on the Bb it is possible to negotiate the passage.

For four and a half bars, depress the Left-hand long B key with the Left
hand little finger.
In the second bar, keep the Right hand fingers down.

It's not easy to do but possible, if you want to spend time working on
it.
If you don't mind the F# a little flat, you may keep the middle finger
of the Right hand depressed durng the 4 1/2 bars.

I think that on a German system clarinet it is a little easier.

Alfred Uhl incorporated the first two bars of this passage in his book
of studies.

On the German clarinet the throat F# is played with the Left hand
thumb, thus the movement between F# and the other notes becomes easier.
