Of course I agree. Perhaps I didn't make that clear in my comment. I
have run into a few individuals when I coach sectionals that working with
support, embouchure, and voicing does not solve the problem. I also
check the instrument.

I have one adult student, who is a very perceptive musically and has a
clear concept of tone quality.
I have played on his exact set-up and haven't been able to match how he
sounds, or find any change or adjustment that makes more than a minor
improvement.

And some members of the list have commented that the close tip works
markedly better than the set-ups that many players use.
