14:03:38 -0400 Subject: [kl] Strauss' Gypsy Baron Does anyone have a
suggestion about how to smoothly play the left-handed lick from Hell 9 bars
after #16 at the 2/4 time signature? For some reason I am having a terrible
time trying to play this section. I can't seem to get it smoothly enough,
fast enough. I need help ASAP as the concert is Saturday night. I am
feeling like a very inadequate principal player, even though no one else in
the section can do a better job than I am. I can play it, but not fast
enough for this conductor. He hasn't said anything yet, but I sure am
getting a lot of dirty looks. TIA. Nancy

Transpose it.

Gigliotti said to me that in his opinion, it is the hardest brief
orchestral passage written.
